Georgia Wide Receiver Michael Bennett Out For Season

The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting that Georgia pass catcher Michael Bennett will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Bennett has been a key player in a very impressive Georgia offense that is averaging 48.2 points per game in 2012.

It remains to be seen how big of a blow this injury is to Georgia’s championship aspirations, but the Bulldogs will need their other receivers to be ready to fill the void. Michael Bennett had been an excellent slot receiver, which created match-up issues for opposing defenses. Bennett also made critical blocks down field, springing Georgia running backs Todd Gurley, and Keith Marshall free for long runs.

Get well soon, Mr. Bennett. Everyone in Athens certainly hopes your Twitter prediction comes true and that this is a year that Bulldog Nation will never forget.
